What is Dao-qi technique and what’s the benefit of Dao-qi for dementia/ Alzheimer’s disease? Q19

Dao-qi acupuncture technique has a long history for treating chaos disorders. It requests special needling manipulations on certain acupuncture points. If precise practising, then Dao-qi technique on some special point may generate special needling reaction directly working on the brain. As a sample if Dao-qi on Fengfu (DU16), the reaction may directly go into the brain or to the head. Another sample is Zhongwan (RN12), which is called “the second brain”.

Clinically, Dao-qi acupuncture technique can be combined with scalp acupuncture to enhance the special results for brain related conditions including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Note: Above Acupuncture for Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Q&A is based on the requests of oversee colleagues on the understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and how to answer the questions from these patients. It is not an academic paper so mostly use plain words.
